Sage Balabar Mocklaw is one of the most reclusive, elusive, but famed leader in recent history. He lives almost his entire life within the pink walls of the Wyrmspire except for his visits to the Council of the Code in Oakenfell. Yet, his name and presence is far-reaching as he dispatches tomes and articles across the civilized world. Treatises on philosophy, theory on magic — on which the Elendil avoid comment, but most importantly: history.
Mocklaw is the preeminent source of the past of Kai’ckul and has spent all of his years documenting and providing insight into the happenings which nearly had faded into the shadows and vagueries of oral histories. Thanks to him, we have a written and set understanding of what came before us and why those things happened.
The few non-Gnomes who know him are among the most elite circles of the world, mostly the members of the Council of the Code. He is described as a force of nature, coming in on a wind and with a purpose and at the last possible moment, and leaving the moment the minutes are salted in the same flurry of energy and papers. His voice is booming and surprising given his diminutive size. His hair is a white-grey which takes on a pinkish hue as the light hits it, and his wrinkles are prodigious, though his age is a matter of debate. He wears a tunic of undyed cloth, unbound at the waist, but the garment remains on his small body thanks to the leather backpack and satchel bag, both filled with reams of paper, quills, ink and he is never seen without the two containers on his back and hip.
